Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. On a large baking sheet, toss the eggplant with 2 tablespoons olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread the eggplant in a single layer so it roasts evenly.

Remove the roasted eggplant from the oven and set it aside to cool slightly.
In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, and the remaining 2 tablespoons olive oil. Pulse 3 or 4 times to start breaking down the chickpeas.
