Main course
Flemish Hutsepot
Flemish hutsepot is a chunky vegetable stew, traditionally served with pan-fried sausages. It comes together with potatoes, carrots, turnips, and leeks, all simmered in chicken stock with bay leaf and thyme until they're fork-tender. Once cooked, you'll mash the vegetables into a rustic consistency, then top each serving with crisp, browned sausages. A dollop of mustard adds a bright tang that cuts through the richness of the stew.
