Stir and Garnish
Combine the gin, dry vermouth, anis, and bitters in a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir well until the drink is thoroughly chilled, about 30 seconds. You'll know it's ready when the outside of the mixing glass feels frosty.
Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass. Take an orange peel and twist it over the drink to express its aromatic oils, then drop it into the glass as a garnish.
