Boil Water

If making individual servings, press the hash mixture firmly into a ring mold or similar form, placing some chopped bacon on top. Heat some of the reserved bacon fat in a skillet.
Carefully transfer the formed hash to the hot skillet and fry until the bottom is a deep golden brown and crisp. Flip it over and repeat on the other side until similarly browned.
Alternatively, if you're making one large hash, add the hash mixture directly to a skillet with the reserved bacon fat and the chopped bacon pieces. Press it down firmly into an even cake.
Cook until the bottom is deeply golden and crisp. Carefully flip the entire hash over and cook the other side until similarly browned. Once done, cut it into individual servings.
