Pour in the milk or cream and mix thoroughly. Cover the pan and let it simmer over a slow flame for another 5 minutes.
Uncover, drop in the butter, and stir until it melts and incorporates, giving the dish a richer, smoother texture. Finish by stirring in the garam masala.
