Mantu Afghan Dumpling
Mantu are Afghan steamed dumplings, filled with a savory mixture of lamb, onions, and green chili. The dough, made from flour, water, and salt, needs about an hour to rest and become pliable. Once shaped, the dumplings steam until tender, then get topped with a quick tomato sauce, a dollop of strained yogurt, and fresh coriander. The open tops of the dumplings ensure the steam penetrates the filling as they cook. It's a satisfying dish, often served as a main course.
