Apple Potato Mash (Hete bliksem)
A sweet and savory mash of apples and potatoes, served with crispy bacon and pan-fried sesame-crusted cheese. The apples and potatoes boil together with a cinnamon stick, then get mashed to your preferred texture. While they cook, you'll crisp up some bacon and quickly fry slices of cheese coated in egg and sesame seeds. A quick sauté of apple slices with maple syrup adds a touch of sweetness to finish.

Boil Potatoes and Apples
Clean and peel the potatoes, then cut them into even-sized chunks. Boil them in salted water for about 10 minutes. Add the cleaned, chopped apples and the cinnamon stick to the boiling water. Continue to boil for another 10 minutes, or until both the apples and potatoes are tender enough for mashing. You can boil them until they're very soft, or leave them a bit chunky, depending on how you like your mash. - 02
Crisp the Bacon
While the potatoes and apples cook, bake the streaky bacon in a dry frying pan until it's crisp and browned. Transfer the cooked bacon to paper towels to drain any excess fat.
