Add the 2 teaspoons ginger/garlic paste to the hot oil and fry for about 3 minutes over low heat, until fragrant.
Stir in the 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder, 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder, 2 teaspoons ground almond, and 1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds. Continue to fry this masala for another 3-4 minutes over low heat, letting the spices bloom.
Pour in the 1 cup coconut milk, stirring to ensure the chicken pieces are covered.
Stir in the 1 teaspoon salt and 3 raisins. Cover the pan and let the chicken cook, stirring occasionally, until it's tender and the sauce has thickened slightly.
