Easy Homemade Apple Fritters

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon. Add the milk and egg, stirring until the mixture is just combined; don't overmix. Gently fold in the diced apple.
Heat the oil over high heat. To test if it's ready, drop a tiny bit of dough into the hot oil; it should float to the surface immediately. Carefully drop the fritter batter into the hot oil by heaping teaspoons.
Fry for about 2 minutes, until the underside is browned. Flip the fritters and continue cooking for another 1 to 2 minutes, until both sides are evenly browned and cooked through.
Once fried, transfer the fritters briefly to paper towels to absorb any excess oil, then move them to a cooling rack. While they're still warm, prepare the glaze.
In a small bowl, whisk together the milk and powdered sugar until smooth.
