With the mixer on low speed, gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet. Start with about half, mix until just combined, then add the remaining dry mix. Be careful not to overmix; it's better to have a few streaks of flour than a tough cookie.

Finally, switch to a wooden spoon or rubber spatula and stir in the 1 1/2 cups of M&M candies. Use a cookie scoop to portion the dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
