Apple Pie Bars is a American cakes & baking recipe that takes about 1h 15m from start to finish and serves 24. It calls for 11 ingredients across 3 steps, and is rated easy. A serving works out at around 134 kcal with roughly 2 g of protein. Filed under dairy free, lacto ovo vegetarian, vegetarian and family gatherings.
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly spray a 9 by 13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
In the bowl of an electric mixer, combine the vegetable oil, eggs, and sugar, beating until thoroughly mixed. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg, then gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients in the mixer, beating until just combined. The batter will be quite thick. Use a sturdy spoon to stir in the apple pieces, then scrape the mixture into the prepared pan, spreading it out evenly.
Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the top is golden and the edges of the bars begin to pull away slightly from the sides of the pan. A wooden skewer inserted into the center should come out clean.
Let the bars cool completely in the pan before cutting them into squares. This helps them set and prevents crumbling.
