Oatmeal Brownie Bars

In a medium bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, and baking soda. Stir in the butter until the mixture is crumbly.
Reserve 1 cup of this oat mixture. Press the remaining oat mixture evenly into the bottom of your prepared pan.
While the oat base cools, combine the brownie mix, water, oil, and eggs in a medium bowl. Stir for about 50 strokes, or until everything is well blended; a few lumps are fine.
Stir in the raisins.
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted 2 inches from the side of the pan comes out clean or almost clean.
For the cleanest cuts, let the bars cool completely for about 2 hours before slicing. Cut into 8 rows by 6 rows for 48 brownies. Store them covered.
