Prep time: 30 min
Cook time: 15 min
Total time: 45 min
Yield: 24 servings
Cuisine: American
Ingredients: 0.5 cup butter; 0.75 cup sugar; 0.75 cup brown sugar; 1 egg; 1 tablespoon water; 0.5 teaspoon vanilla; 1 cup flour; 0.5 teaspoon baking soda; 1.5 cups cooking oats; 6 ounces chocolate chips

These are classic chocolate chip cookies with the added chewiness of oats. They come together quickly, first creaming the wet ingredients, then folding in the dry, and finally the oats and chocolate chips. Expect a soft, slightly chewy cookie with plenty of chocolate. They bake up in about fifteen minutes, turning a light golden brown.
