Combine all the herbs, nuts, and spices with the vodka in a 1 quart or larger aging container. Cap it tightly and shake daily for 2 weeks to ensure a thorough infusion.
After two weeks, strain the liquid through a fine muslin cloth or coffee filter, discarding the solids. Clean out the aging container, then pour the infused liquid back in.
Separately, combine the sugar and water in a saucepan, stirring over medium heat until the sugar is completely dissolved. Let this simple syrup cool completely. Once cool, stir in the food coloring, then add the syrup to the liqueur liquid in the aging container. Cap it again and let it age and mellow in a cool, dark place for at least one month.
